Kneading Out Energy Savings
bread manufacturing plant
OVERVIEW.
TEST conducted an ESOS audit at a bread manufacturing plant consuming 21 million kWh annually.
Through a detailed site audit and over 230 photographs, TEST produced a 62-page report outlining nine energy-saving interventions. These measures are projected to save 12 million kWh per year, around £2 million in costs, against an implementation investment of £2.7 million, delivering strong ROI and supporting more sustainable operations.
THE CHALLENGE.
TEST was tasked with conducting an Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) audit at a bread manufacturing plant, which was consuming a substantial 21 million kWh of energy annually.
THE APPROACH.
To address this challenge, TEST conducted a thorough site audit, collecting over 230 photographs to compile an extensive evidence pack.
Following the site audit, the team developed a detailed 62-page report, outlining nine key interventions aimed at improving energy efficiency. These interventions were projected to yield substantial energy savings, estimated at 12 million kWh annually. This translates to a financial saving of around £2 million for the plant.
The total projected cost for implementing these energy-saving measures was approximately £2.7 million, indicating a strong potential return on investment and a significant step towards more sustainable operations.
THE RESULTS.
