Lighting the Way to Sustainable Development

Simmtronic partnered with TEST to develop a clear, data-driven approach to carbon reduction in response to growing sustainability demands across the commercial development sector.

Simmtronic services the commercial development industry with lighting control systems. The industry is under the sustainability microscope and therefore supply chains are under pressure to develop a plan for carbon reduction. Simmtronic collaborated with TEST to develop a strategy to embed sustainability into the fabric of the business.

The project kick-off began with a data-collecting exercise involving all areas of the business to work out the relevant Scope 1,2 and 3 carbon emissions to include in the business’ carbon baseline. The business wanted to show sustainability leadership and committed to the SBTi and set a 42% reduction target for Scope 1 and 2 by 2030.

To further develop the sustainability strategy TEST carried out an energy audit to identify carbon-saving opportunities that totalled 9.6 TCO2.
