TEST Consulting is proud to support the LMG Hard Hats & Open Minds Charity Walk, with Managing Director John Swallow joining people from across the construction industry for the 10km Walk for Change through Central London on 15th September.
The initiative brought together professionals from across the construction and proptech industries to promote greater inclusion, strong male allyship and positive leadership, while encouraging more women and girls to consider careers in construction.
With almost 239,000 additional workers needed by 2030, attracting new people into construction is increasingly important. Women currently represent fewer than 15% of the workforce, and Hard Hats & Open Minds aims to encourage more women and girls to see construction as an exciting and aspirational career choice, while championing strong male allyship, positive leadership and role models for young men. The walk will also raise funds for Killed Women, supporting its work to help end violence against women and girls, with support from WalkSafe.
Speaking about the event, John Swallow said:
“Construction has some fantastic career opportunities, but as an industry we need to make sure we continue to attract talent from as wide a pool as possible. Hard Hats & Open Minds is a great opportunity to come together, demonstrate our support for continued positive change and help inspire more people to see the opportunities the industry has to offer.
“I’m really looking forward to joining colleagues from across the industry for the walk and supporting such an important cause.”
