In a significant update from the Environment Agency regarding the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS), there has been an extension of the Phase 3 Compliance Deadline. Originally scheduled for 5th June 2024, the deadline has now been shifted to 6th August 2024. This amendment has been communicated through the latest edition of the Environment Agency’s ESOS Newsletter, which announces the extension and provides essential guidance for registering with the new Information Technology (IT) portal.
Several factors have influenced the decision to extend the compliance deadline. Key among these are concerns raised over the timeliness of guidance issuance, reported delays in implementing the new IT system, and a discernible shortfall in the availability of Lead Assessors. These challenges have collectively necessitated the granting of additional time to ensure comprehensive compliance.
Scheduled to become operational on Tuesday, 19th March 2024, the Manage your Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme reporting system (MESOS) promises to streamline the reporting process. The system will be accompanied by various support documents and guidelines, details of which are provided in the newsletter and include:
- ESOS Newsletter March 2024
- Instructions for New User Account and Organisation Set-Up under ESOS
- Guidelines for Pre-Onboarded User Account and Organisation Set-Up
- ESOS User Management Procedures
