TEST Consulting Managing Director, John Swallow, is preparing to take on a 150km cycling challenge in support of SolarAid, ahead of Solar & Storage Live 2026.
On Sunday 20th September, John will join fellow participants for Journey to Zero, a two-day cycling challenge travelling from Harpenden to the NEC Birmingham.
The first day will see the group cycle approximately 75km from Harpenden to Silverstone, before setting off again on Monday morning to complete the remaining 75km to Birmingham.
The challenge will finish at the NEC, just in time for Solar & Storage Live 2026, which takes place from 22-24 September and will be attended by John and other members of the TEST team.
Journey to Zero is raising funds for SolarAid, supporting the charity’s work to bring clean, safe solar energy to communities across Africa. The cause is particularly relevant to TEST and the wider solar industry, demonstrating the important role solar technology can play in improving access to energy.
John Swallow, Managing Director at TEST Consulting, said:
“I’m really looking forward to taking on the Journey to Zero challenge. Cycling 150km over two days will certainly be a test, but it’s a fantastic opportunity to raise funds for a cause that is closely connected to the industry we work in.
“This charity event is also a great way to begin Solar & Storage Live and join others from across the sector in supporting the work of SolarAid.”
The challenge comes ahead of a busy three days for the TEST team at Solar & Storage Live, where John Swallow, Louis Swallow and Isaac Rushworth will be connecting with organisations from across the solar and energy storage sector.
At TEST, our work across solar monitoring, performance analysis and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) is focused on helping organisations get more from their solar assets and ensure systems continue to perform effectively over the long term.
The whole TEST team will be supporting John and the other Journey to Zero participants throughout the ride and wishing them the best of luck for the 150km challenge.
